Local Union 50 was chartered on August 1, 1999 when the 8 Local Unions (220, 279, 655, 699, 905, 980, 1064, 2308) of System Council U-1 merged.  We represent the hourly workers of Dominion, Monongahela Power and Virginia Natural Gas.  In 2004 Local 50 begin to represent the hourly workers of BARC Electric Cooperative and Craig-Botetourt Electric Cooperative.

The territories that we cover include most of Virginia, eastern North Carolina and part of West Virginia.
