Local 50 Receives United Way Labor
Leadership Award
Local 50 was awarded the United Way/AFL-CIO
Labor Leadership Award for outstanding commitment and service to
our communities again in 2006. The award came with the sincere
thanks and appreciation of the entire United Way organization
and the AFL-CIO.
This award is reflective of the value placed on helping those in
need that is shared by all members of Local Union 50. Each year
the membership rises to the occasion and shares a portion of
themselves with the community through contributions to the
United Way through payroll deduction, one time contributions,
and participation in special events like the Annual IBEW Local
50 Charity Rockfish Tournament.

The American Red Cross awarded Local Union
50 for having made a significant humanitarian contribution. The
recognition stems from Local 50’s involvement in the stocking of
the Disaster Supply Center in Richmond, Virginia.
Special thanks go to Senior Chief Steward Bill Mullins for his
hard work and commitment to the project.

The United Way has again awarded IBEW Local
Union 50 with the prestigious Labor Union of the Year Award for
the hard work and generosity of our members at Virginia Natural
Gas during the 2006 campaign.
